The 6th Australian Radio Ratings Survey results for 2024 have been released.<\/p>\n
\u2022 No Olympic Gold for 2GB as it slips off its overall top position in Sydney, down 3.1% into 4th place in the market. With Olympics coverage being largely overnight, the station\u2019s breakfast shift was significantly affected.<\/p>\n
\u2022 KIIS 106.5 has jumped to top overall position in Sydney, but has lost ground in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
\u2022 ABC Radio Sydney\u2019s new breakfast presenter Craig Reucassel (also with AM and Sarah Macdonald in the timeslot) has taken a big chunk out of Ben Fordham\u2019s 2GB breakfast show, with Fordham losing 3.1 share points. ABC and WSFM divided up the spoils of Fordham\u2019s drop, with Reucassel nabbing 1.2% and Jonesy and Amanda grabbing 1.3% of share in that timeslot.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Nine Radio stations in the other cities were not as badly hit by the overnight Olympics coverage as Sydney, although the surge that is normally seen for Nine\u2019s talk and sport stations during footy finals season was not as evident as usual, another indicator that the Olympics may have damaged Nine\u2019s results (but perhaps not its revenue).<\/p>\n
\u2022 Disrupt Radio is now gone from the DAB+ airwaves, with consistently low survey numbers and reports the company was not able to pay its DAB+ licence rental fees to SEN. It will now pursue a different audio strategy.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Nova\u2019s Priceline Radio appears on DAB+ in Sydney and Melbourne for the first time in this survey.<\/p>\n
\u2022 New leader in Adelaide as Mix 102.3 jumps ahead of Triple M<\/p>\n
\u2022 New leader in Perth as 96fm overtakes Nova<\/p>\n

The survey was conducted by GfK for Commercial Radio Australia between\u00a0 Sun Jul 7 to Sat Sep 14, 2024. With the rolling survey structure, this still includes the Olympics, as well as footy finals season.<\/p>\n
