Many of those songs come from newer artists or are fusions of at least two genres.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQ1 2025 hinted at a shift in in-car listening behavior, and Q2 confirmed it,\u201d Xperi Senior VP of Broadcast Radio and Digital Audio Joe D\u2019Angelo says. \u201cGenre-blended tracks seem to have staying power, rediscovered songs are getting a second life, and new voices are breaking into the top 10.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Xperi\u2019s three quarterly rankings of most listened-to songs in-vehicle \u2014 based on data from more than 11 million vehicles across 150 countries equipped with the DTS AutoStage platform \u2014 include Kendrick Lamar and SZA\u2019s hip-hop\/soft R&amp;B collaboration \u201cLuther\u201d (which samples Luther Vandross\u2019 \u201cIf This World Were Mine\u201d), Shaboozey\u2019s country\/hip-hop \u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy)\u201d and Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen\u2019s pop-meets-country \u201cI Had Some Help,\u201d Chappell Roan\u2019s disco-pop \u201cPink Pony Club,\u201d and Ed Sheeran\u2019s Middle Eastern-influenced pop song \u201cAzizam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Four of U.S. drivers\u2019 top 10 songs appear on Xperi\u2019s rankings for a fifth straight quarter, including \u201cBar Song,\u201d Teddy Swims\u2019 \u201cLose Control,\u201d Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s \u201cEspresso,\u201d and Myles Smith\u2019s \u201cStargazing,\u201d while Benson Boone\u2019s \u201cBeautiful Things\u201d joins the five-timers club with his UK top 10 berth. Celebrating a third consecutive quarter on Xperi\u2019s lists are \u201cI Had Some Help,\u201d and Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars\u2019 \u201cDie With a Smile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6676 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bprworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/chart1-300x231.jpg?resize=718%2C553\" alt=\"\" width=\"718\" height=\"553\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bprworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/chart1.jpg?resize=300%2C231 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bprworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/chart1.jpg?w=696 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 718px) 100vw, 718px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also notable is the abundance of song- vs. artist-driven tracks, with these three lists dominated by the debut or second major hit from Shaboozey, Swims, Roan and Smith, along with those from Alex Warren (\u201cOrdinary\u201d), Lola Young (\u201cMessy\u201d) and Doechii (\u201cAnxiety\u201d). Two acts that broke big in 2024 place a second hit alongside their first: Swims with \u201cBad Dreams,\u201d and Boone with \u201cSorry I\u2019m Here for Someone Else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Xperi\u2019s report also points out the influence of awards, festivals and re-released songs on listening. This was the case for \u201cPink Pony Club,\u201d originally released in 2020 and helped by Roan\u2019s Best New Artist Grammy and Coachella performance this year, and for \u201cAnxiety,\u201d originally uploaded to YouTube in 2019 and re-recorded and re-released in March after going viral on TikTok, while Doechii also celebrated a Best Rap Album Grammy win and performed at Coachella and Stagecoach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether, these examples point to a new kind of hit \u2014 the comeback \u2014 where catalogue tracks find a second life years after release, perhaps due to a well-timed performance, re-release or social media boost,\u201d D\u2019Angelo says.<\/p>\n<p>Xperi\u2019s top 10 most listened to songs in-vehicle for U.S. listeners during Q2 2025 are: \u201cLuther,\u201d \u201cDie With a Smile,\u201d \u201cAnxiety,\u201d \u201cBar Song,\u201d \u201cEspresso,\u201d \u201cPink Pony Club,\u201d \u201cMessy,\u201d \u201cOrdinary,\u201d \u201cStargazing\u201d and \u201cLose Control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Xperi\u2019s worldwide in-car listening data provides broadcasters with analytics about where, when, and how long their audiences are listening, and the content they enjoy the most, to help stations forge deeper connections with their audiences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>First published by <em>InsideRadio<\/em>.
